5 BEAUTY BLOGGERS MAKE-UP RESOLUTIONS FOR 2019

We asked beauty bloggers and influencers for their top 2019 beauty resolutions. Here’s what they said.

Lameez Hendricks, Beauty editor and founder of The Current Mood @thecurrentmood.co
‘My beauty resolution is to eat more mindfully. I have noticed that what I put into my body affects my skin, my mood and overall demeanour. Although I have spent an entire career looking at what’s best for the outside of my body, I feel a deep need to take care of what is beneficial for my inner self too. Instead of starting my day with coffee, I want to start it with celery juice – it has detoxing and anti-inflammatory properties and is great for glowing skin. My next aim is to include facial massage into my daily routine. It’s brilliant for lymph drainage and reducing puffiness. I want to find a beautician who prioritises facial massage and have regular treatments. Let’s see how all of this goes, but I know there’s power in truly vocalising the changes you want to make!

Aisha O’Reilly, Natural hair and mommy blogger for A&L @aishaandlife
‘I’m thinking about growing my hair again, so this will mean more protective styles and no more heat styling. I’ve been falling asleep with my son in his room at bedtimes, so I’ve become really bad at removing my make-up before I go to sleep. I aim to start removing it as soon as I get home so that stops happening! I’m also getting my eating under control again, but I’ve been terrible with exercise. I need to make an effort to find a gym class I enjoy, so it won’t feel like a chore.’

Shashi Naidoo, model, owner of Alushi Models and The Laser Beautique @shashinaidoo
‘I receive a lot of great skincare products from various brands and often switch products, but this year I’d like to incorporate specific products into my routine and stick with them because I believe the key to great skin is to be consistent. I’m also choosing to be kinder to myself – no more yo-yo diets or viewing being healthy as a punishment! Fitness has always been a big part of my life, not only because it keeps me toned but it also boosts my circulation and keeps my skin glowing. This year I would like to change my perspective on how I exercise; instead of pushing myself I’d like to incorporate it into my lifestyle more holistically – more walks with my dog and gymming with a friend.’
