5 WAYS TO ENJOY VALENTINE'S DAY WHEN YOU'RE SINGLE

Jet Club Family, the beautiful thing about love is that it comes in many forms. Just because you’re not in a relationship it doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate Valentine’s Day!

Here are a few ways you can enjoy the day of love when you’re single.

1. Host a singles-only dinner party

Call your single friends, it’s time to party! Hosting a dinner party for all your single friends is the perfect way to celebrate your single status. You could even play cupid by inviting people you think might hit it off. Who knows, you might even meet someone yourself!

2. Buy your favourite snacks and don’t share it with anyone

If you’d rather stay at home and watch a movie, get some of your favourite snacks and savour the fact that you don’t have to share them with anyone!

3. Visit your family
In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives it can be difficult to see our family as regularly as we want to. Valentine’s Day could be the perfect time to see family you haven’t visited in ages. If your family lives far away, why not give them a call on Skype or WhatsApp video? Your family will be so happy to see you again, and it will definitely lift your mood too!

4. Pay it forward
Giving back to others can be one of the most fulfilling things you can do on Valentine’s Day. Mother Theresa famously said, “It's not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.” Find a charity that is close to your heart and do something special for them on Valentine’s Day. Why stop at one day? February 11 – 17 is Random Acts of Kindness Week, so you can do something every day!

5. Practice self love
Valentine’s Day might bring up feelings of self doubt and negative thoughts about yourself. Turn your self-doubt around by countering it with self-love.

You can practice self-love by being kinder to yourself, silencing that critical inner voice, and continously reminding yourself of your successes.

Try the following mantras:
“I am lovable.”
“I am responsible for my own happiness.”
“I am moving forward.”

Loving yourself unconditionally means that you will be content with or without a partner, because your happiness will come from within.

After all, you are your first true love in this life.
