Hollywood’s biggest stars graced the 2019 E! People's Choice Awards red carpet in their finest attire.
The E! People’s Choice Awards celebrate the year’s achievements in film, TV and music. It’s one of pop culture’s biggest nights, recognising people in entertainment. Held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Hollywood's A-listers came out to play and brought their fashion A-game to the red carpet.
This year’s trends are quite different from what we’ve been seeing on the red carpet. From asymmetric cuts, futuristic designs, liquid fabrics, embellished pants suits and believe-it-or-not optical illusion dresses, this years’ trends have firmly set the tone for what to expect in fashion this season.
With the fashion stakes very high, let’s see who pulled off the most memorable ensembles on the red carpet.
KELLY ROWLAND
Kelly Rowland always brings ultra-glam to the red carpet and she did not disappoint at this year’s E! People’s Choice awards. She graced the red carpet in a futuristic see-through dress featuring a graphic design print and high neckline. She completed her look with silver eyeshadow and a bold burgundy lip shade.
STORM REID
16-year-old actress, Storm Reid, from the movie A Wrinkle In Time made her fashion stamp on the red carpet in an optical illusion print blue mini with puffed sleeves by Iris van Herpen.
KOURTNEY KARDASHIAN
Being part of a fashionable family, Kourtney Kardashian, never misses the brief when going on the red carpet. She wore a glitzy black and silver pantsuit with a bra peeking out. The look is very high fashion and definitely made a statement!
GWEN STEFANI
Gwen Stefani is this year’s Fashion Icon Award recipient, which was announced in advance. All eyes were on her as she arrived on the red carpet. True to form, Stefani, showed up and showed off dramatically in a white Vera Wang dress with a huge, ruffled train reading "Fashion Icon." She paired the gown with thigh-high boots, fishnet stockings and long black gloves. This look proved how deserving she is of the award!
ZENDAYA
Zendaya kept it simple in a Christopher Esber single-strap black gown with a stomach cutout featuring a sparkly beaded trim. She won the People’s Choice Award for The Drama TV Star of 2019 for her performance in the series Euphoria, and she gave a beautiful acceptance speech.
BONANG MATHEBA
A proudly South African moment! Our very own star Bonang Matheba walked the red carpet full of excitement as a winner of the newest and hottest contested category in the E! People’s Choice Awards, “African Influencer of the Year”. It’s the first time that E! recognised some of Africa’s most iconic and influential talent. Queen B looked stunning in a neon pink Fendi dress. Well done, B!
NINA PARKER
The E! Entertainment presenter shut down the red carpet with her mesmerising lavender gown by Melissa Mercedes, which included beaded cuffs and a sheer skirt bursting with flowers and diamanté details.
SARAH HYLAND
Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland also stayed true-to-the-trend in a vibrant orange gown by Fausto Puglisi that features dramatic jewels.
