Who knew you could use these to clean your kitchen?

It’s spring – the perfect time to give your kitchen a deep clean, and you don’t need expensive products to do it. Here are five amazing ways to clean your kitchen using your everyday items!

1

LEMON FOR CHOPPING BOARDS

Lemons are not only great for adding flavour to food but also for cleaning your cutting boards. The acidity in lemons helps break down food stains and remove odours. Simply cut a lemon in half, rub it over the surface of your cutting board, and let it sit for a few minutes. Rinse with warm water, and your cutting board will be fresh and clean.

2

VINEGAR FOR COUNTERTOPS

Vinegar is a powerhouse cleaner that can disinfect and deodorise your kitchen countertops. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle and use it to wipe down your counters. Vinegar is especially effective on grease and sticky spots. It’s safe to use on most surfaces, but be cautious with natural stone, as vinegar can damage it over time.

3

BAKING SODA FOR OVENS

Baking soda is perfect for cleaning your oven without harsh chemicals. Make a paste using baking soda and water, then spread it over the interior surfaces of your oven. Let it sit for several hours or overnight, then scrub away the grime with a damp cloth. The baking soda will lift off baked-on grease and stains, leaving your oven spotless.

EAR BUDS FOR SMALL CREVICES

Ear buds (cotton swabs) are ideal for cleaning those hard-to-reach places in your kitchen, like the crevices around your stove knobs, faucet handles, or inside your microwave. Dip the ear buds in a bit of vinegar or soapy water and use them to remove dirt and grime from small areas that are difficult to clean with a regular cloth.

5

SALT FOR CAST-IRON PANS

Salt is an excellent abrasive for cleaning cast iron pans without damaging their seasoning. Sprinkle a generous amount of coarse salt into the pan and scrub with a paper towel or cloth to remove any stuck-on food or grease. Rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly to prevent rust.
