An unforgettable night with Lesego Modutle
All the fun, fashion and festivities of our cover reveal party in Cape Town
Oh what a night it was, celebrating none other than the beautiful cover star of our October-November issue, sign-language advocate Lesego Modutle. This special event was one for the books, quite literally. The Rooftop at the Rockefeller Hotel in Cape Town became the perfect stage for an evening of glam, laughs and a whole lot of love.
The evening began with a relaxed mingle session as guests floated in, champagne in hand. The dress code was smart-casual and not a single guest missed the mark. Influencers and creators made their appearance, including Mena Koogal from Silki, Daiyaan Abrahams, Nicola du Plessis, Lameez Stark and Intezaar Kippie, who brought his mom as his plus-one. Our MC for the evening was the ever charismatic Tara Courtene Cannon, who kept the energy flowing from start to finish.
Nando’s fuelled the crowd throughout the night with delicious finger foods that kept everyone coming back for just one more bite. Lesego also brought the cheers with tastings from her very own wine selection, because when Lesego hosts, she really goes all out!
The 360 photo booth was a favourite and captured every twirl, every hairstyle and every bright smile.
Then came the moment everyone was waiting for… Lesego made her entrance, singing her heart out to the catchy tune `Unwritten’ by Natasha Bedingfield. She wore a little black dress with a dramatic train and red stilettos, the very definition of a stylish Jet Club magazine cover star.
She kicked the festivities off with a game, where she used sign language to teach the audience a thing or two. We now know how to sign ‘magazine cover’.
The grand unveiling of the cover left everyone with nothing but pride in seeing Lesego reach a personal milestone. “I’m someone who’s always been passionate. I wanted to be an entertainer, I’ve achieved that. And then I thought to myself, one day is one day — I’m going to be on the cover of a magazine. So thank you so much to Jet Club for making one of my big dreams come true!” she said.
