How to make the switch to veganism easy

Switching to a plant-based diet can be easier than you think!
Trying to get a head start on your health? Maybe veganism is the key! With tonnes of health benefits such as lowering the risk of diabetes, helping with excess weight loss and reducing the chance of heart disease, get ready to feel like your best self!
Veganism means making the switch to use products and eat foods that do not contain animal products. That means no milks, butters, meat, or even certain skincare that could contain any form of animal product. It might seem scary, but it’s easier to make the switch with our trusty guide.
DON’T JUMP STRAIGHT IN
The reason why many of us sometimes fail to commit to diet changes is because we jump straight in instead of slowly getting accustomed to it. Start small by cutting out one animal product at a time instead of all of them on the spot! For example, you can make this easier by setting aside one day a week where you don’t eat any eggs or meat. You can then slowly increase the number of days as you get more comfortable.
Switching to vegan skin and body care
Beyond dietary changes, switching to vegan cosmetics or skincare can be simple. Nowadays many brands have stopped testing on animals and no longer make use of animal by-products. Just make sure to check the back of your products for an icon that says it’s vegan or if it makes use of any specific non-vegan ingredients.
GETTING USED TO THE BASICS
Thinking of vegan recipes can be hard enough as it is without the added pressure of switching up your whole diet! Start with three basic recipes that you would be excited to try. They don’t have to be complicated, have a million different ingredients or super expensive to be tasty. Incorporate these recipes in-between your regular meals and you might find yourself making them more often than expected.
MAKE EASY SWAPS
Introduce substitutes for milk or meat when starting your vegan journey. You might even find that you had a hidden food sensitivity to them all along! Dairy can often make people feel bloated or increase acne. Instead of using cow’s milk in your morning coffee, opt for an oat or coconut milk for a unique and nutty flavour that compliments any coffee roast. Mushrooms and eggplant are a good replacement for meat as they can mimic its texture and soak up a lot of flavour.
