The Benefit:
Jet Club includes a funeral benefit which pays out R3 500 if you die, and R1 500 if your partner dies (if you have nominated a partner to be covered by the funeral benefit). Your partner is your legal husband, wife or civil union spouse or a person who is in a permanent relationship with you and who shares a permanent home with you, who is 18 (eighteen) or older.
Foschini Retail Group (Pty) Ltd is an authorised financial services provider (FSP32719). The funeral benefit is underwritten by Guardrisk Life Limited, an authorised financial service provider (FSP76) and an insurer licensed to conduct life insurance business in terms of the Insurance Act, 2017.
When can a claim be made?
Claims must be submitted to us within 3 months of your death or your partner’s death.
Claims will be paid out by electronic funds transfer (EFT).
Claims must be submitted by completing a claim form and handing it in at any Jet store or emailing it to our insurance Claims Department at claimsadmin@tfg.co.za
You must have paid the amount required by us on your TFG Money Account for more than two consecutive months if you want to claim, and you must not have reached your credit limit on your TFG Money Account.


Who can claim
You must claim the funeral benefit if your partner dies. Your partner must claim the funeral benefit if you die. If you don’t have a partner, a person who is financially depended on you, your sibling (including half sibling or step sibling) or a parent (including natural or legally adoptive parent) must claim.
Documents you need to claim
All required documents must be submitted with the claim, The required documents are:
- A certified copy of the death certificate;
- A certified copy of the claimant‘s identity document;
- A certified copy of the deceased’s identity document;
- A certified copy of the beneficiary’s identity document (if you have died);
- A copy of the DHA1663- Notice of Death form (completed by the medical practitioner who has certified the death);
- A Police Report in instances where the accidental death is a result of a motor vehicle accident, suicide or where the death is under investigation.
- Any other documents or information that we or the insurer request because they are essential to assessing the claim.
