If you’ve been keeping up with the Hollywood headlines, more information is coming out about breakups that we never saw coming. It seems like every one of our favourite celeb couples is breaking up! We’ve looked back at a few celeb splits that still have us weeping a little…

WILL SMITH AND JADA PINKETT SMITH

For those who don’t know, Will and Jada have been separated since 2016. The couple first met in 1994 on the set of the hit show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and welcomed their two children, Jaden and Willow, soon after. After the couple’s viral discussion on Jada’s show Red Table Talk in 2020 the couple have been battling comments and criticism by fellow celebs and the public for a while.

JOE JONAS AND SOPHIE TURNER

After four years of marriage, rumours of Joe and Sophie’s split started after the pair were spotted not wearing their wedding rings. After reports confirming their split, their divorce escalated quickly with whispers of custody battles over their two daughters being rocky. This seven-year love story was quickly shattered – and we were too!

TIA MOWRY AND CORY HARDRICT

In October 2022, after 14-years of marriage, Mowry took to Instagram to announce her separation from Cory. She shared how they will maintain a friendship and their children will continue to be co-parented. Since then, Tia has shared her journey to independence and empowerment, enjoying life one step at a time.

BRITNEY SPEARS AND SAM ASGHARI

Britney Spears has been in the news constantly in recent years, especially following her conservatorship trial. Now, her name is headlining due to the mention of her split from Sam Asghari in her upcoming book. Spears states that they had ‘irreconcilable differences. Asghari has since allegedly attempted to renegotiate their prenuptial agreement after standing beside Spears’ trail. The pair met on her popular ‘Slumber Party’ music video in 2016.

SHAKIRA AND GERARD PIQUÉ

After rumoured disses towards Piqué in her song Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53. with Argentine DJ Bizarrap, this one was a messy break! The couple met while shooting the music video for Waka Waka in 2010 and a whirlwind romance followed. The pair called it quits in 2020 after 11 years of marriage.

LISA BONET AND JASON MOMOA

After Bonet’s split from muso Lenny Kravitz, we were sure that this was the one! Momoa and Bonet ended their relationship after 16 years together. The pair announced their separation in a co-written statement posted to Momoa’s Instagram.
