Frosted nails are perfect for when you want a cute (but still subdued) nail look. “This trend combines the elegance of neutrals with a wintery twist, offering a versatile and sophisticated palette that feels both seasonal and timeless,” says celebrity manicurist Aja Walton.
2. Framed glitter nails
Make a statement with framed metallic nails in fun colours to brighten up the gloomy weather. “Metallics and glitter polishes are very popular in the winter because clients get reminiscent of the past and optimistic for the future. That extra sparkle helps capture that feeling perfectly,” says celebrity manicurist Sigourney Nuñez
3. Dark chocolate
Warm and dark shades on your nails are the perfect accessory to your outfit this season. “In 2025, dark brown is taking the spotlight,” says Juli Russell, DIY nail expert for Sally Beauty. “It’s rich, it’s warm, it’s bold – but more wearable than a stark black.”
4. Animal prints
From croc print to tortoise shell, animal-inspired nail designs are all the rage for winter. According to celebrity manicurist Tinu Bello, animal prints are nostalgic of the 90s and 00s so it’s a fun way for people to relive their old favourites. “It also appeals to a lot of people as it really can be classed as a neutral, and is super easy to wear, while giving a bit of creative flair,” she tells Popsugar UK.
