Big or small, white or pink, we love marshmallows! From milkshakes to crunchy bars here are some fun ways to enjoy them!

Not only are they soft and sweet, but you can also add marshmallows to pretty much anything. You can pop them into a cup of hot chocolate or toast them at a campsite fire, but did you know that these squishy treats make a wonderful key ingredient in some cool and delicious goodies?

Here are some easy marshmallow treats your children could make with some supervision and spend some quality, fun time together in the kitchen.

MARSHMALLOWS ON A STICK

You will need:
1 cup of chocolate pieces
10 sosatie sticks
10 marshmallows
Sprinkles
1. Melt the chocolate in a bowl in the microwave or over a pot of water on the stove.
2. Press one end of a sosatie stick through the middle of each marshmallow.
3. Dip it into the melted chocolate and let any extra drip off.
4. Dip marshmallow into sprinkles and… yum!

STICKY MARSHMALLOW POPCORN
You will need:
¼ cup butter
½ cup of sugar
10 marshmallows
A bowl of ready-made popcorn

1. In a bowl mix the butter, sugar and marshmallows, and melt in a glass or metal dish over a pot of water on the stove, or in a bowl in the microwave.
2. Pour marshmallow mixture over the popcorn and stir in well. Shape into balls and allow to cool. Add a decorative sweet on top and enjoy!

TOASTED MARSHMALLOW SHAKES
You will need:
15 marshmallows
5 scoops vanilla ice cream
2 tablespoons plain yoghurt
2 tablespoons milk
Crushed Tennis biscuits
Whipped cream

1. Toast your marshmallows under the griller in the oven until they are golden brown
2. In a blender, mix the ice cream, yoghurt and milk. Blend for a few seconds, add 10 marshmallows, then blend again for another few seconds.
3. Pour into small glasses. Top with whipped cream, then add leftover marshmallows and sprinkle with crushed biscuits.

Tip: Be careful not to over blend or it will be too runny! Adding an extra scoop of ice cream to a runny mix will thicken it a bit.

MARSHMALLOW CRUNCHY BARSYou will need:
3 cups of milk chocolate
1 cup butter
½ cup syrup
Crushed Tennis biscuits
400g mini marshmallows

1. In a bowl, mix the chocolate and butter, and melt in a glass or metal dish placed over a pot of water on the stove, or in a bowl in the microwave. Put 1 cup of the chocolate mix aside.
2. Add syrup, biscuits and marshmallows to the rest of the mixture.
3. Put your marshmallow mix into a baking dish or tray, and press till it is flat and level. Spread the cup of chocolate mix you set aside over the top. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge until the mixture has set.
4. Remove wrap, cut into small bite-sized bars, and serve.
