6 Essentials for your holiday beauty bag 

Here are six essentials to slip seamlessly into your summer bag: 

Moisturiser (with SPF, of course) 

SPF is the holy grail! Not only does it protect your skin from damage caused by the harsh summer sun but daily SPF can also slow down signs of premature ageing. Pair that with a good daily moisturiser, and you’ve got a formula for youthful success. The summer heat can make heavy products feel suffocating, so opt for a lightweight formula.  

Cleansing wipes 

In hot weather, sweat is a given. To freshen up, make sure you pack in cleansing wipes that will help brighten your complexion while also removing product build up. Or pack in a small bottle of micellar water and a pack of makeup-removing pads that will gently remove the heavy feeling of product, sweat and grease after a long day of soaking in the sun. Your pores will thank you!  

A refreshing body mist 

Beyond reapplying antiperspirant (yes, even at night for max effect), a fresh scent is your secret weapon against sweltering summer days. Unlike perfume, body mists are lighter and offer a more refreshing way to layer your fragrance. 

If you’d like a longer-lasting scent, start with spraying on a neutral or complementary body mist then spritz your perfume on top; spray with body mist throughout the day to maintain. 

Lightweight foundation 

A lightweight foundation can be your secret weapon for faking flawless skin – lightweight and longwear is the ideal combination for summer – not sit too heaving on your skin and if you do perspire it usually stays put.  

Hydrating lip balm 

Dry, chapped lips are a big no, so you can never go wrong with having a hydrating lip balm close by. A vitamin C lip balm with ceramides can also offer moisturisation while also repairing and protecting your lips’ delicate skin.  A good, nourishing lip balm can also act as an excellent base for lipstick or lip gloss – keeping your lips in the best shape before applying some colour. (Your lip product will also go on so much more smoothly when you have soft, crack-free lips.) 

Travel Hairbrush & Hair Mask  

Our hair carries so much of who we are, and when it misbehaves, we feel it in our mood. Summer humidity can send frizz into overdrive, while the sun leaves strands parched. That’s why a trusty travel hairbrush and a nourishing hair mask are non‑negotiables.
