RED CARPET GLAM AT THE 2019 CREATIVE ARTS EMMY AWARDS CEREMONY


One of Television’s biggest calendar events happened this weekend, the Creative Arts Emmy ceremony 2019. We take a look at which shows won and which celebs brought their A-game on the red carpet.


The 71st Emmy Awards kicked off this past weekend starting with the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. These particular awards recognise excellence from acclaimed TV shows and outstanding productions and they are credited in their artistic and technical accomplishments in categories such as casting, cinematography and costumes.

The red carpet was rolled out for Hollywood's finest as excitement and anticipation built up for the nominees. Our favourite A-listers came dressed to nines to be part of this glamorous occasion, but most importantly to find out which shows made enough of an impression to scoop a coveted Emmy.

Many celebrities attended including Kim Kardashian, Angela Bassett and a wonderful surprise was 94-year-old actress Cecily Tyson who looked absolutely stunning.

Cecily Tyson was nominated in the Guest Drama Actress category for her role in How To Get Away With Murder. She has aged so gracefully and elegantly strutted the red carpet in a two-piece navy and floral ensemble.

Fashion icon and Reality TV star, Kim Kardashian, wore a modern asymmetrical halter black dress on the red carpet. The dress was suitably styled with a high hair bun and soft nude make-up. She looked classic and chic and the dress complemented her figure very well.

Angela Basset dazzled everyone with a bronze, gold and silver gown – the actress always brings class and sophistication to the red carpet without fail. With a touch of extra volume on her hair and black platform heels, she looked like a million bucks.

Nicole Scherzinger looked glamorous as always, the 41-year-old singer and television personality stepped out in a romantic Pamela Roland gown paired with gold stilettos and a gold clutch bag. She looked sun-kissed and definitely made the fashion headlines of the night.

Looking so dapper and refined, Shawn Wayans attended the Creative Arts Emmy Awards Ceremony in true black-tie style, wearing a navy blue suit with a velvet maroon bow tie and matching pocket square. Although we don’t see him often on screen anymore, he plays a big role behind the scenes as a screenwriter and producer on multiple shows.

Black-ish actor, Marcus Scribner, took a different approach to red carpet attire at this year’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The star donned a mustard three-piece suit paired with black patent shoes with gold detail. No doubt he made the fashion headlines and created a memorable men’s fashion moment on the red carpet.

GAME OF THRONES



Game of Thrones was the most nominated programme in the 2019 Emmy race with a total of 32 nominations. The show cleaned up a whopping 10 wins in technical categories such as visual effects, make-up and casting for a drama series to name a few.

RUPAUL


RuPaul’s Drag Race’s RuPaul Charles landed his fourth consecutive Emmy for Outstanding Host for Reality or Competition Programme. RuPaul dedicated his win to his Drag Race co-executive producer Jacqueline Wilson who passed away recently.
