TOILET ROLL PENCIL HOLDER
Useful pencil holders made from toilet roll tubes – kids can make them in every colour of the rainbow.

You need:
  • Toilet roll tubes (as many
  • as you like)
  • Sheets of coloured paper
  • (the same number)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Googly eyes (or crayons to draw eyes with)

How to do it:
  1. Place a toilet roll tube on a sheet of paper and make a mark on the paper where you need to cut so it fits the tube.
  2. Now cut a strip from each sheet of coloured paper, long enough to fit right round the toilet roll tube.
  3. Glue the paper strips onto your toilet roll tubes.
  4. Cut feet and a face out of leftover paper.
  5. Glue googly eyes on the face, or draw them, and draw a mouth.
  6. Glue a foot onto the bottom of each tube, and you’re done!

ORIGAMI ANIMAL BOOKMARK
Kids will love making these animal bookmarks for their favourite books – they can make as many as they like, with different colours and faces.

You need:
  • A square of coloured paper
  • Scissors
  • Crayons or coloured pencils
  • Glue

How to do it:
  1. Cut your paper to make a square.
  2. Fold the paper square in half, to make a triangle with the point facing upwards.
  3. Fold the tip of the front half of the paper down.
  4. Now take the two outside bottom edges and fold them up so you have a smaller square.
  5. Tuck the two top edges inside.
  6. Now you can have fun adding ears, eyes and teeth if you like! Turn the square so the single point of paper is facing down. Decorate your bookmark’s face with eyes and anything else you like. Cut out ear shapes and glue them to the back of the top triangle. And if you want teeth, cut a strip of paper with zigzags on one side and glue it to the inside of the top triangle. Wait for the glue to dry, and you have a cute bookmark that fits over the corner of your page, so you never lose your place.
