This Father’s Day, make a special effort to show Dad just how much you care with these useful gifts that he will be sure to cherish.

STATIONERY HOLDER
Ever noticed how things like pens, pencils and scissors seem to be hiding when you really need them? Help your dad keep his stationery neatly in one place with a holder that looks as good as it’s useful.

What you will need:

• A clean, empty glass jar like a jam jar
• String or coloured ribbon
• Buttons of your choice
• Craft glue
• A scrap of fabric in dad’s favourite colour

How to make it:

1. Starting at the bottom, evenly spread craft glue over the surface of the jar.
2. Neatly wind the string or ribbon around the jar, so there’s no glass showing between the strands. Carry on glueing and winding until you reach the top of the jar.
3. Set aside to allow it all to dry.
4. Decorate by glueing on colourful buttons.
5. Then make a bow with the fabric in Dad’s favourite colour.
6. Glue a button in the middle of the bow, and attach this to the jar.
7. Now you have a stationery holder to take centre stage on Dad’s desk!

PERSONALISED FACE MASK

What you will need:
A plain cloth or disposable mask
Waterproof paint or markers
Crayons
Glitter
Glue
Envelope

How to make it:

1. Draw a picture of something your dad loves (like a football or a pizza), or write his name on the mask. Add a few pretty patterns around it.
2. If you’re using disposable masks, you can make each one different. For example, write the names of the week, from Monday to Sunday, in different colours, then decorate it.
3. Apply glue to the patterns on the mask(s).
4. Then scatter glitter on the glue (make sure you do this before the glue dries).
5. When the glue has dried, shake the mask to get rid of any extra glitter.
6. Put the mask(s) into an envelope and write ‘Dad’ on it.
