Glass can be recycled reused for several pretty good purposes. This week we show you how you can decorate used jars to make pretty storage or a vase. Find out how in these fun and easy steps.
PHOTO JAR:
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Empty Jar
- Craft Glue
- Acrylic Paint
- Glitter
- Paint Brush
- Paper shape
- Prestik/masking tape
How to make the photo jar:
- Stick your paper cut out shape onto the jar using Prestik or masking tape.
- Using your paint brush, paint the outside of your jar and around the shape.
- Wait for the paint to completely dry.
- To decorate the lid, add glue in your desired shape and sprinkle glitter over.
- Place a photo inside the jar and put the lid back on.
Top tip: Add some shapes to the outside of the jar with glue and sprinkle glitter on it for an extra sparkly look.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Empty Jar
Craft Glue
Food colouring

How to make the flower jar:
- Add craft glue to a small container.
- Drop in a few drops of food colouring.
- Mix it all together.
- Pour the mixture into your jar and swirl it around until the entire inside of the jar is covered.
- Slowly pour the excess mixture out and back into the same container.
- Set aside your jar for 10 min.
- Preheat the oven to 80° C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place your jar in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
- Remove the jar from the oven and let cool for 20 minutes.
