FIVE CREATIVE WAYS TO DISPLAY YOUR CHILD'S ART

Your child’s art is precious, but there comes a time when parents need to get creative with how they display it to avoid clutter and showcase these budding talents in a meaningful way. We have you covered.

ARTY BUNTING
This is perhaps the easiest low-cost way to display your little one’s creative masterpieces. Simply select a bare wall in your home and nail two or more nails or hooks into the wall to attach a string to. Now you can attach your kids' artworks to the string and hang them up in a row. Pull the string taut for a straight row, or let it hang slightly loose for more of a bunting effect.

Get creative with the cord you use to hag the artworks on: you could use string threaded with colourful beads, fairy lights or even actual bunting.

WOOD PANELS
This method involves attaching a thin panel of wood to the wall (if you don’t want to use any power tools, No More Nails is a good option), and then attaching bulldog clips at spaced-out intervals to the wood panels (again, No More Nails works here, or you could just glue them on using a hot-glue gun). This creates a neat and stylish panel that you can use to display your child’s art – and change it out regularly – on any wall in your home that has a bit of spare space. Three panels stacked above one another can create an attractive feature wall.

GALLERY WALL
The beauty of a gallery wall is that it can bring together many kinds of artworks for harmonious effect. There are a few different directions you can take. You could forgo frames and use fun coloured washi tape to stick artworks to the wall. Alternatively, for a neat, uniform effect, you could frame your child’s artworks in multiple iterations of the same frame and hang these up in rows to make a pleasingly symmetrical gallery wall. Finally, you could go for a more eclectic look by mixing differently sized frames in assorted styles. This is a little trickier to get right, so remember to try out a few configurations on the floor before you hammer the first nail into the wall.

COFFEE-TABLE BOOK
A custom-made picture book is a truly charming and space-saving way to preserve your children’s art for posterity and makes for a lovely conversation piece in your living room! It’s also a great solution if you have absolute oodles of your kids’ art that you can’t bring yourself to throw a way.

Try The Bumble Box or Artsy Books.

A PINBOARD WALL
Consider covering a small wall, or a section of wall, in corkboard panelling. Keep a selection of pins nearby so you can pin up your child’s art at a moment’s notice.

Alternatively, you could paint a wall (or section of wall) with chalkboard paint and encourage the whole family to draw ornate frames around your kids’ art (which you could sick on with Prestik).
