Who says you need to spend a fortune to keep fit? Try one of these handy (and fun) tips to get in a workout without breaking the bank.
1. WORKOUT VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE
All you need is your workout ‘fit and an internet connection! Turn to YouTube or other social media channels to get those gains. The perks of exercising at home is that you can select a workout video that is suitable for you. There’s a range to choose from, from pilates to taebo, or even fun dance workouts. Not only will it give you the flexibility to do a training session whenever it suits your schedule, but you don’t need to spend money every month on an expensive gym membership.

2. SWIMMING
Summer is the perfect time to take advantage of the hot weather and take a dip. A lap in a pool or catching a wave (or two) when you visit the beach is the perfect way to get in some good exercise – all while having fun. Swimming is a great cardio alternative to get your heart pumping while working out various muscles in your body. If you’re feeling bold in the pool, give backstroke or butterfly stroke a try. You probably won’t perfect it on the first (or second) try – but you’ll have fun (and get more toned) in the process.
3. WALKING FOR EXERCISE
Walking is not only a great way to get those steps in – you can do it anywhere! “Research finds that walking regularly reduces the risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and heart disease,” says Dr Keri Peterson, who specialises in internal medicine. Whether you take a hot girl brisk walk around the block, or if you’re feeling more adventurous and hike your favourite trail close to your home, it’s the perfect way to get fit without spending any money.
