You perhaps have the basic knowledge of the step by step to shaping your eyebrows, but how sure are you that you’re sculpting them according to the correct shape for your face? We share with you tips and tricks to achieving the brows that are best suited for your face.

ROUND FACE
Best brows for you: angled and arched with longer ends

This eyebrow type adds a bit of dimension and definition to the face, therefore, slimming it down and making your face appear oval.

OVAL FACE
Best brows for you: well balanced and contoured

This is known as the ideal face shape to have, the only rule applicable is to work with the dimensions of your face.If you have a high forehead, large eyes and lips, you should go for thicker brows which is one of spring 2019’s biggest trends. Those with smaller features would be better suited with slimmer arches.

HEART-SHAPED FACE
Best brows for you: soft, rounded arches

To complement your sharp angles, go for the type of brows that create fluidity and curves. You can achieve this by creating soft, rounded brows with a natural colour.

SQUARE FACE
Best brows for you: angled peaks

To create a softer and less boxy look for square face shape, the secret is the arch of the brows. Adding angle to the peak will create an illusion of having a longer and narrower face.

DIAMOND-SHAPED FACE
Best brows for you: linear shape

With the diamond-shaped face, it is ideal to stay away from high arches as they can exaggerate the face length. It’s best to go for a flat brow shape to ensure flattering results.

HOW TO SHAPE YOUR BROWS
Tools you will need: Tweezers, eyebrow pencil, eyebrow brush and brow gel.

STEP ONE: IDENTIFY YOUR STARTING POINTS.
Turn your tweezers upside down and place in a vertical position while putting it next to the outer edge of the bottom of your nose. Mark the point where the tip is, as that should be where your brow should begin. Then using your eyebrow pencil, put a vertical line to locate the start of each row.

STEP TWO: LOCATE YOUR ENDPOINTS.
Place the tweezers so that it is angled against your cheek while the open end is at the bottom of your nose and the other end is at the outer corner. Mark the spot where the tweezer crosses your brow to where the brow hairs should end. Pluck away any hairs that go beyond the line.

STEP THREE: SHAPE YOUR BROWS.
Using an eyebrow pencil, draw a line at the bottom part of your brows, beginning at its fullest portion making sure that is above any stray hairs and follows your natural arch. Shape your brows like you are drawing upside-down check mark. Keep the peak of your arch on the exterior rim of your iris and right on your brow bone while tapering its ends.

Tip: Pluck away any stray hairs and make sure that the thickness of your brows is between a 6.53mm and a 1.27cm.
