HOW TO GET THE WET EYE LOOK

The wet eye trend has been spotted on celebs like Kylie Jenner and Selena Gomez. Here’s how you can get the look with products you already have at home!

STEP 1
You will need an eyeshadow palette, mascara and Vaseline for the wet eye look. If you have an eye pencil that matches the eyeshadow you’re going to apply, that would be first prize. If you don’t have an eye pencil, you can use your foundation as a primer.

STEP 2
Prep your skin and apply your foundation. Remember to first apply sunscreen! The majority of our sun exposure comes from walking to work and sitting in the car, so even if you think you’re not going into the sun you should still wear sunscreen. STEP 3
Use your matching eye pencil as a primer for your eyeshadow. If you don’t have one, here’s where you can either use your foundation instead. According to Fab Fit Fun, Aloe Vera gel also does the trick. Who knew?

STEP 4
Apply your chosen eyeshadow colour over your primer. You can also mix in a lighter shade for an ombré effect. If you’re feeling very daring, add another shade to the inner corners of your eyes.

STEP 5
Using your finger, dab the Vaseline over your eye lids. Don’t do use a wiping motion, as this would move the eye shadow around.

STEP 6
Strike a pose, because you’ve nailed the look! It’s that easy, Jet Club Family.

HOW TO WASH YOUR FACE THE RIGHT WAY
At some stage you’ll need to remove your sticky eyeshadow, here’s how! Start by removing your make-up with wipes, micellar water or even baby oil. Using a face cleanser to remove your make-up is not advised, as it’s not strong enough on its own. “Many makeup brands are smudgeproof or waterproof, so basic cleansers will not remove them thoroughly,” explains Dr Rachel Nazarian to self.com.

After you’ve removed all your make-up, wash your face with either a foam or gel cleanser. Use lukewarm water – hot water strips away your skin’s natural oils. Be sure to also wash your U-zone (around the jawline), as most people miss this area and it can cause breakouts. Once you’re done, carefully pat your skin dry with a clean towel.
