8 MUST-HAVE LOOKS FOR SPRING

Stripes, florals and metallics are among our favourites for an effortlessly chic look this season. Here are our top fashion trends for the season.

It’s a wonderfully versatile season for fashion, with something to suit everyone from the boardroom boss lady to the free-spirited flower child.

1. TOUCH THE FLOOR
Maxi dresses and skirts are clear favourites – they are comfortable, fun and suit most body types. Add a belt to your dress to accentuate your waistline, and a pair of high heels for a chic effect. For a more casual look, rock sneakers and throw on a denim jacket for the perfect finishing touch.

2. BLURRED LINES
Stripes are a classic. Update your wardrobe with the latest styles, ranging from tie-dye to fruit and other patterns. Go for thinner stripes for figure hugging pieces, and if you want to pull off the monochromatic striped outfit, make sure to break it with solid accessories.

3. MONOCHROME
Monochrome is one of the most timeless and versatile trends that explores different shades of the same hue. The easiest way to get started is with good old black or navy. Keep the outfit interesting by adding different textures or statement patterns. For a chic daytime look, keep your make-up bright and light.

4. IN FULL BLOOM
Florals are this season’s go-to print, and this year isn’t any different. Pair with basic pieces like formal pants or a pencil skirt for work, or denim over the weekend. Or opt for a skirt or top with smaller prints if you aren’t too big on florals but want to start experimenting with the look. This trend definitely gets our stamp of approval.

5. CUT IT
The cut-out trend was spotted on runways this season – a contemporary alternative to showing a little bit of skin. Opt for styles with simple fabrics. Dominant this season are geometric necklines and asymmetrical midriffs in neutral tones. A big thumbs up!

6. GO WIDE
Let your pants do the talking. Wide-leg pants are comfortable and perfect to rock for any occasion – work, dinner, picnic, or even a party. Wear them slightly cropped with a fun pair of heels, sandals or even sneakers. For a fun colour-block ensemble go for bright wide-leg pants paired with a solid neutral or brightly coloured top.

7. DISCO BALL
Anything that sparkles is a mood lifter, so dazzle your way through the season with sequins or metallics. Want to be centre stage on a night out? This trend is for you! Scream ‘disco-ball’ head to toe in a dress, or style up with a pair of sparkly jeans, skirt or shorts and a plain top.

8. POWER PUFF
Add some drama to your wardrobe with a dress, blouse, or top with puffed sleeves. They were big in 2020 and are going to be even bigger this season. Organza and structured cotton are great fabrics for this look. The trend can be a bit intimidating, so if you’re new to it, ease into it with sheer fabric tops paired with solid-coloured pants or jeans.
