STYLISH WINTER WEAR FOR GENTS

Dressing up for winter can be tricky when trying to balance warmth with trendy. We are making it easier for you by compiling easy trends that can be adapted to any wardrobe.

LET IT LOOSE
Tight is out, and loose is in. After years of dominance, skinny jeans are officially taking a backseat. Thanks to Gen Z, skater chic is making a comeback with wide-leg jeans enjoying a fashionable resurgence.

While embracing this trend, be careful not to drown yourself in ill- fitting denim, instead opt for looser cuts that are comfortable. Make sure your jeans are fitted at the waist and choose a straight or relaxed cut, with the hem falling just above your shoes. If you prefer cuffing or rolling your jeans, opt for a longer pant leg. Create a balanced look by layering a hoodie, chunky jersey or statement coat over a loose-fitting T-shirt and finishing the look with boots or sneakers.

A STATEMENT PIECE
Statement outerwear is a must-have this season, from fashionable faux-fur- trimmed trenches and overcoats to oversized puffer jackets and embellished letterman jackets. Whether they feature subtle detailing, mounds of fluffy shearling or vibrant colours and bold embellishments, these trendy outer- wear pieces are an easy way to elevate your look.

Depending on the level of detailing, keep the rest of your outfit clean, simple and neatly tailored, allowing the outerwear to take centre stage and command the spotlight. So naturally, you’ll be getting some well-deserved attention too.

BET ON BLACK
Winter often brings a sombre mood; however, the misery chic trend allows us to channel that feeling into a look built with layers of deep, rich black garments.

Using pieces in your wardrobe, play with different textures and fits. Layer smooth cotton, chunky wool, grainy leather and velvety suede to create textural dimension. Once you’ve constructed a look, add versatile pieces that complete the outfit in different ways and finish off this monochromatic look with a stealthy black sneaker, shoe or boot.

POPS OF PINK
Add a dash of debonair to a stylish yet muted outfit with a playful pop of pink. While the season’s runways featured full monochromatic pink looks, it’s much easier to integrate this trend into your existing wardrobe by adding pink accessories. For example, try a solid or patterned pocket square, a silk tie or, if you’re adventurous, a tailored blazer, trousers or coat in shades of pink – from lighter candyfloss to deeper neon and magenta.

SLIDE INTO STYLE
Customisable Crocs have dominated the Gen Z style. From Justin Bieber to Questlove, everyone has jumped on the trend, and Kanye West even created his own version with the Yeezy Foam Runner. It’s clear that designer slippers are here to stay, with everything from Croc-style rubber clogs to classic slip-ons with custom detailing showing up as well. So give your sneakers a rest and slip into something a little more comfortable this season.
