‘EDU’TAIN THEIR MINDS WITH PODCASTS
If you are stuck on the road for a couple of hours, use it as a learning opportunity. Kids love a good story – and podcasts are just that! As a bonus, you learn interesting and fun new facts about the world. Before you embark on your trip, download some podcasts like Moment of Um or Brains On! Science Podcast For Kids. They’re so interesting that your kids won’t even know they are expanding their little minds (shhh, we won’t tell them if you don’t).
FUN CAR GAMES
Your kids will (hopefully) behave in the backseat when they are distracted with fun car games. All the games from The Licence Plate Game and Telephone to I Spy will keep kids and grown-ups entertained on your way to your destination. It’s a win-win for all!
VISIT THE LIBRARY BEFORE YOUR TRIP
Not only does reading improve your kids’ language skills, but they can also learn about the world around them. Pay a visit to your local library before your trip, and let your kids pick out a couple of books to read on the road. Make it even more fun and let them choose books about road trips or the destination that they are travelling to! Bonus? You may even get some shut-eye (or enjoy a quiet drive) while your kids get lost in their books.
