Uh-oh! That makeup application doesn’t quite look like you’d imagined it would…
But is there an easy enough way to fix it? In the world of beauty, there’s always a way to turn a mistake into a magical Insta-worthy moment.
CONCEALER OVERLOAD
So, you’ve applied too much concealer… now what? Step 1: Take a deep breath and put the concealer tube down. Now, gently pat the excess product into your skin using a clean index finger – this will help create a more even spread of the concealer across your face. Now you can get blending! A beauty blender or a blending brush will help create a smooth finish for a more natural look.
If, after you’ve taken the time to blend as much as you can, your face still looks too shiny, simply dust some translucent setting powder onto your face to reduce the shine and create a more matte finish.

FEATHERED LIPSTICK
We’ve all had a red lipstick blunder or two in our lifetime (looking at you cherry red lipstick). But how do you make lipstick stop bleeding and stay put in-between the lines? “If lipstick has moved into the creases around the mouth, remove with a damp sponge or cotton swab,” says makeup artist Elisa Flowers. “Then fix the edges by tapping foundation or concealer on the stained areas.”

SMUDGED EYELINER
You’ve taken the time to carefully create your makeup masterpiece when suddenly, as you’re applying the finishing touches, your liquid eyeliner goes rogue and causes an accidental smudge on your perfect canvas. Whatever you do, do not try to wipe it away in a panic! Allow the smudge to air dry for a few seconds before using a ‘spoolie’ (a mascara wand minus the mascara) to gently scrub off the product before reapplying.

MASCARA CLUMPING TOGETHER
There are many types of mascara you could use to make your eyes stand out: voluminous, lengthening, strengthening, colour and waterproof.
And there’s one way you could spoil a look with mascara – and that’s if you apply so much that your lashes start to clump together.
How would you know when enough is enough? Generally, it takes only two coats of mascara to achieve the desired effect. If you are heavy-handed when it comes to the mascara wand or if the formula is thicker than you expected it to be, don’t worry – clumpy mascara can be fixed.
Wash an old mascara wand thoroughly, dry it, and then comb through your lashes to help them separate. You could also dip a small makeup brush in makeup remover and use it to remove the excess product before running a clean mascara wand through your lashes for a final coat.
