Ensuring a good start in life
The Do More Foundation was established by RCL Foods in 2017 to focus on hunger relief, services for young children and youth development in under-served communities. RCL is a leading SA food manufacturer employing more than 21000 people.
The purpose of the Do More Foundation is to create a brighter future for the children of South Africa and to end the cycle of poverty through collaborative partnerships. Through its work, it also aims to uplift households and communities.
The Do More Foundation runs nationwide programmes to improve nutrition, early learning and caregiver/parental support while leading community projects to ensure that children have access to quality services. Aligned with the government's National Integrated Early Childhood Development Policy, its initiative focuses on the need for a stronger foundation in early childhood - because 90% of brain development happens before the age of five.
Supporting more than 1 000 ECD centres across the country, Do More provides 24 000 daily meals to children in these programmes.
The Do More Foundation has also played a vital role in disaster relief (such as the Covid pandemic and KZN floods) by organising resources and distributing millions of meals to affected communities and children.

You can get involved by donating as little as R20 (once-off or monthly), which will provide a meal to a vulnerable child. You can also join the volunteer programme, which includes spending time with children in educational play.
In addition, the Foundation has a variety of #DoMore merchandise – T-shirts, shopper bags, mugs and water bottles – to purchase online, with all proceeds going towards their school feeding schemes that benefit children across the country.
