PLAYTIME WITH DIY PLAYDOUGH

Playtime is an essential part of children’s development, more so when it’s aided by creative elements such as playdough. Help your little one make the most of their playtime with this easy-to-make playdough that will ignite the creative spark within!

You will need:
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Food colouring

Instructions:
  • In a pot, combine the dry ingredients (flour, salt, and cream of tartar) and oil
  • To the warm water, add the food colouring of your choice and mix well
  • Incorporate the coloured water into the dry ingredients. Stir well
  • Slowly heat the mixture over low to medium heat. The dough should be stirred or whisked frequently while on the stove. The mixture will eventually clump into a ball and pull away from the sides (looking like playdough). It only takes a few minutes to complete this process
  • The pot should be removed from the stove and allowed to cool
  • Remove the dough from the pot after it has cooled and kneed it. Once that is done, you can start playing!

TOP TIP: Store playdough in an airtight container in the refrigerator and it will last months. Mason jars work well.

Important: Keep play dough away from your pets due to its high salt content. If they consume it, they may become very ill.
